     I’ve added only one new painting to this section in July, 2007: “Dark Hill.” This is the second time I’ve added only a small handful of paintings during a revision of this site. What goes on? I’m sorry to report the Great American Novel has devoured all my time and intellectual energy the past few months. The gods willing, I’ll find the wherewithal to leave it untouched on assorted hard drives and DVDs at least six months.

     I love views and vistas, but only in about the same way I love baked potatoes, the sound of mourning doves, heavy woollen blankets, match pistols, and fast cars: these are pleasures, not passions.
