Here you see the emerging painting after I cloned still more of the source image with the oil pastel tool. I wasn’t happy with the look of the dark brown marble vase at this point, but reminded myself not to over-finish portions of the painting. Sometimes I pay attention to such reminders; sometimes I treat myself to fresh lessons in the futility of working with insufficient discipline.
